“The Big Bust Out” (German: Frauen im Liebeslager) is a German-Italian exploitation film directed by Ernst Ritter von Theumer and starring Tony Kendall, Monica Teuber, William Berger and Gordon Mitchell. It was released in 1972 and belongs to the genre of women in prison films. The film revolves around the daring escape of seven beautiful women from a high-security prison in an unnamed South American country. The women are Rebecca, a political activist, Maria, a prostitute, Anna, a drug addict, Lida, a thief, Gina, a lesbian, Lola, a nymphomaniac and Susan, a naive tourist. The film depicts the brutal conditions and abuses that the women endure in the prison, as well as their violent and erotic adventures after they break out. They encounter various dangers and enemies, such as corrupt cops, sadistic guards, ruthless bandits and vengeful villagers. They also meet some allies, such as Jeff (Tony Kendall), a journalist who helps them expose the prison’s corruption. The film ends with a tragic twist, where the women discover that they have been betrayed by one of their own, who has sold them to Miller Drake (Gordon Mitchell), a notorious white slaver who plans to ship them to his clients. The women fight back and manage to kill Drake and his henchmen, but they also lose their lives in the process.
