“Zalizna Sotnya” (also known as “The Iron Hundred”) is a Ukrainian historical film directed by Oles Yanchuk and starring Nikolay Boklan, Oleg Drach, and Igor Gnezdilov. It is based on the true story of a group of Ukrainian Insurgent Army (UPA) fighters who resisted both the Soviet and Nazi forces during World War II. The film depicts the heroic deeds of one hundred UPA soldiers, led by Michael Duda (Hromenko), who fought in the Carpathian Mountains in 1944-1945. They faced overwhelming odds and constant attacks from their enemies, but they never gave up their struggle for freedom and independence.
